Enthusiasts’ Weekend 2020 – Guided Talks

Swindon Panel is delighted to be hosting an Enthusiasts’ Weekend on 3, 4, 5 April 2020. Please also see our Experience Sessions on the same weekend.

On SATURDAY 4 APRIL:

Swindon Panel will be open on this date, and in addition to our usual demonstrations, we will also be conducting guided talks of the panel area, aimed specifically at enthusiasts.

These will cover the background of the panel, why it was developed, how it works, and a little about how it was preserved.

Each of the talks lasts for about 30 minutes, and they will take place at 1130, 1330 and 1530. After each talk, the panel will be available for a further 30 minutes for the talk attendees to ‘have a go’ before the room is opened to the public again.

Each talk will be for up to 15 people. You can book in advance, or on the day at any time, or just turn up at the start time of the talk. Spaces will be first-come-first-served, so we don’t guarantee there will be any left on the day.

The normal Didcot Railway Centre entrance fee applies, there is no extra fee to attend these talks, but donations towards the preservation and development of Swindon Panel will be very welcome.

The panel will be open ‘normally’ for our normal demonstrations until 1130, between 1230 and 1330, and between 1430 and 1530.
